On 11 July 2024, the 48th meeting of the Working Group on the Work with the International Telecommunication Union WG ITU) at the RCC Commission for the Coordination of International Cooperation was held via videoconference.

The meeting was opened by Alexei Borodin, Chairman of the WG ITU, RCC Director General.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Communications Administrations (CAs) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of Intersputnik, Rostelecom and the staff of RCC Executive Committee.

The meeting was devoted to the issues of preparation for the World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly (WTSA-24), which will be held from 15 to 24 October 2024 in New Delhi, India.

The coordinator for the preparation of RCC CAs for WTSA-24, Evgeny Tonkikh, informed the participants of the meeting about the progress of preparations for WTSA-24 in ITU and other regional organizations, as well as about the candidates of the RCC CAs for the leadership positions of the Assembly and the Working Bodies of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector.

In the course of the meeting the proposals of the CA of the Russian Federation to the draft Common Proposals of the RCC to WTSA-24 were also considered, which were approved by the meeting based on the results of discussions.
