The Postal Operations Council (POC) of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) will be holding meetings in Berne, Switzerland, from 22 to 26 April 2024.
The POC meetings are attended by representatives of the communications administration of the Republic of Belarus and full members of the RCC Postal Operators Board - Aipost, Belpochta, Russian Post, as well as representatives of the RCC Executive Committee - in a format of a videoconference using the virtual teleconference system of the UPU International Bureau.
The POC is a technical and operational body of the UPU, consisting of 48 member countries elected at Congress. Its main purpose is to help Posts modernise and update their postal products and services. The body deals with the operational, economic and commercial aspects of the postal business, providing member countries with recommendations on standards for technological, operational and other processes under its purview where uniform practices are required.
The POC sessions will discuss issues such as the integration of the logistics network, physical services and e-commerce, postal financial services, market development and innovation.
On the margins of the POC session, a cybersecurity forum will be held on 25 April 2024 to address the growing challenges in this area facing the postal sector worldwide.
