In April this year the first official visit of the Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications Alexey Borodin to Switzerland took place.
During the visit, A. Borodin held a series of meetings with a number of Permanent Representatives of the Commonwealth member states to the UN Office and other international organisations in Geneva:

The meetings were held in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and cooperation.
Discussions at the meetings focused on the coordination of efforts by the RCC communications administrations on the margins of the International Telecommunication Union and Universal Postal Union events held in Geneva and Berne, respectively, as well as possible prospects and mechanisms for such coordination.
The meetings revealed a deep interest in strengthening the region's common voice at key ITU and UPU events, as well as a willingness to work closely together in preparation for them, with the support of the Regional Commonwealth Communications Executive Committee.
