On March 29, 2024, Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, Alexey Borodin, took part in the 101st meeting of the CIS Economic Council (Moscow, Russia), during which a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between the CIS member states were discussed.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk.

The meeting was attended by member of the CIS Economic Council, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov, member of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko, member of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin (via video conferencing ), Co-Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, Co-Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Khokim Kholikzoda, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zhasur Karshibaev, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the statutory and other CIS bodies, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Belarus Razmik Khumaryan, Plenipotentiary Representative of Turkmenistan in the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Esen Aydogdyev, Secretary General of the CIS Sergey Lebedev.

Within the framework of the Council, the draft Protocol on amendments to the Agreement on cooperation of the CIS member states in the creation of compatible national telemedicine systems and their further development and use dated November 19, 2010, developed by the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications together with the CIS Executive Committee on the basis of proposals from relevant ministries and departments of the CIS member states.

Updating the Agreement will allow the CIS member states to continue work on the implementation and development of compatible national telemedicine systems, taking into account new trends, and will also promote interaction within the Eurasian Economic Union.

The CIS Economic Council approved the draft Protocol and decided to submit it for consideration by the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS.
