On February 1, 2024, the Third Meeting of Heads of Ministries and departments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states responsible for the development of information and communication technologies was held in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan).

It was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan T.V. Prasad Nagendra, Minister of Information and Communication Technologies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Zarepur I., Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Musin B.B., Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China Zhao Zhiguo, Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Kutnaeva N.A., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bhatti N.B., Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Shadaev M.I., Deputy Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Atoev I.D., First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Pekos O.A.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Tkach P.N., Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Logvinov G.S., representatives of the SCO dialogue partners and diplomatic missions in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

There was a thorough exchange of views on successful digitalization projects, challenges and prospects of ICT for sustainable development.

The heads of delegations shared plans for cooperation to reduce the digital divide in the SCO space and views on global trends in this area.

The Meeting participants visited panel sections on ICT topics, country stands of IT achievements organized on the site of the SCO Digital Forum.
