On February 1, 2024, at the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly - the Tauride Palace - a meeting was held between the General Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications, Alexey Sergeevich Borodin, and the Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Dmitry Arkadievich Kobitsky.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation were discussed within the framework of the activities of the Expert Council of the IPA CIS - RCC, as well as other promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

This year marks the 22nd anniversary of cooperation between the IPA CIS and the RCC, during which time the Expert Council of the IPA CIS - RCC, which brings together parliamentarians and professionals in the field of information and communication technologies and information law, provides effective assistance to Commonwealth legislators in the development of model laws and other documents.

The overall goal is the harmonization of national legal systems in the field of digital development, information and communication technologies, communications and mass communications.

“Today the issues of developing digital solutions and technologies in all spheres of life are coming to the fore in the countries of our Commonwealth. Legislators are expected to provide prompt legal regulation of these processes. We are ready to discuss the most pressing issues and jointly search for legislative solutions with practitioners from the RCC,” noted D.A. Kobitsky.

Borodin A.S. emphasized that the experience of normative lawmaking of the CIS IPA is of great value, it is important to use its potential for interaction and development of agreed solutions on the most pressing issues, and considers the development and strengthening of cooperation with CIS institutions to be one of the priorities in his work. He expressed readiness for expert support of legislative regulation in the field of information and communication technologies.
