On 15 December 2023, the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) concluded its work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The aim of WRC-23 is to modernize international frequency regulation and bring it in line with the realities of communications industry development. Konstantin Shulgan, Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus, spoke at the closing ceremony of WRC-23 on behalf of the RCC.
During WRC-23, extensive work was done, contributions were considered, agreements were reached, and issues on which the effectiveness of international cooperation in the field of radiocommunication of ITU Member States largely depends were settled.
Today the heads of delegations signed the Final Acts, a document that includes all the decisions approved by the ITU Member-States.
Overall, WRC-23 approved 43 new resolutions, revised 56 existing resolutions, and cancelled 33 resolutions.
The decisions taken at WRC-23 will improve the coherence of the radio spectrum, help to address the digital divide, boost national economies, and enable the development of the next generations of radiocommunication in the coming decade.
