The ITU World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-23) will start today, 20 November 2023, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

During the conference, decisions will be made on the international regulation of the use of the radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits, considering the need for further harmonized global development of advanced radio technologies for cellular mobile, satellite and maritime communications, while ensuring interference-free operation of existing radiocommunication services.

On 20 November 2023, the 1st Coordination Meeting of the delegations of the RCC AU delegations to the ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) was held in Dubai, UAE.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Communications Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the leadership of the RCC Executive Committee.

The Coordination Meeting was opened by Valery Butenko, Chairman of the RCC Commission on Regulation of the Usage of Radio Frequency Spectrum and Satellite Orbits.

Nurudin Mukhitdinov, General-Director of the RCC Executive Committee, also made a welcoming speech.

The agenda of the meeting included the following issues:

- On the results of the work of the RCC delegation at the ITU Radiocommunication Assembly;

- On the candidature of RCC for the position of Vice-chairman of the Committee 5;

- On allocation of responsibilities of the RCC delegation members on WRC-23 agenda items and Conference Working Bodies;

- On agreeing the list of RCC coordinators promoting the RCC General Proposals at WRC-23;

- On the order of interaction of the delegations of the AU RCC at WRC-23 and clarification of the lists of delegations of the RCC CAs and their contact details;

- On the interaction of the RCC with other ITU regional organizations.

The RCC Coordination Meeting will continue its work until the conclusion of the ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23).
