On 23 May 2023, the 44th meeting of the Telecommunications and Infocommunications Operators Board of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications was held in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan).

The meeting was attended by delegations from the full members of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications: Aztelecom LLC, Beltelecom RUP, Kazakhtelecom JSC, Kyrgyztelecom OJSC, Rostelecom PJSC, Tajiktelecom OJSC, Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency, Uzbektelecom JSC.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the regulatory authorities: the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was also attended by:

- Observers of the RCC TIOB: MOCC Intersputnik, FGUP Space Communications, FGUP NIIR, JSC Republican Centre for Space Communications, Iskratel Ltd, HUAWEI, One Web;

- Associate members: PJSC MegaFon, RIPE NCC;

- Invited guests: ITU Regional Office for the CIS Region, Rusheitekport Ltd and the staff of the RCC Executive Committee.

The meeting was opened and moderated by Yuri Petruchenya, Chairman of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board, Director General of Beltelecom RUP.

The participants were welcomed by:

- Nasirjon Hasanov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbektelecom JSC;

- Cosmas Zavazava, Director of Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union;

- Nurudin Nurudin, General-Director of the RCC Executive Committee.

At the 44th meeting of the RCC Telecommunications and Infocommunications Operators Board, the practice of holding round tables on topical issues of industry development was continued:

- Priority areas of operators' activities in implementing digital economy programmes in RCC Member-States,

- On the measures taken in the RCC member countries to combat fraud on the communication networks.

The participants of the meeting considered a number of questions:

- On the existing transit communication networks and the construction of future networks;

- Proposals of the Working Group on Satellite Technologies of the RCC Telecommunication and Info-Communication Operators Board;

- Exchange of experiences on information security by enterprises, including in the provision of services;

- Proposals of the Working Group on Development, Administration and Operation of Telecommunication Networks of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board;

- Implementation of decisions of the 43rd meeting of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board;

- Preparation of RCC participants for major ITU forums: ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2024, ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025, ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026;

- Election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board;

- Place, time and agenda of the 45th RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board meeting.

At the meeting the following governance structure of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board has been elected for the next period: Chairman of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board - General Director of RUE "Beltelecom" Yuri Petruchenya.

The Chairman of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board was elected as the Vice-Chairmen of the National Telecommunication Companies.

The 44th meeting of the RCC TIOB facilitated more productive work of the meeting participants in discussing strategic objectives for implementing digital economy programmes, as well as issues on information security and adopting constructive solutions.

In conclusion the participants of the meeting expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Uzbektelecom JSC for the excellent organization of the 44th meeting of the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunication Operators Board for well-coordinated and accurate work to create a constructive business and friendly atmosphere.

As a result, all the tasks have been successfully completed.
