In Ashgabat was held the XV International Exhibition and Scientific Conference on Telecommunications, Telemetry, Information Technologies and Television and Radio Equipment "Turkmentel - 2022"
In order to demonstrate the achievements in the field of information and communication technologies of Turkmenistan, the Agency "Turkmenaragatnashyk" of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, annually holds an exhibition and scientific conference "Turkmentel - 2022".
The conference opened with the Plenary Session "Development of information and communication technologies - a key factor in the digitalization of the socio-economic sphere of Turkmenistan".
The welcoming address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov was read out by Mammetkhan Chakiyev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
Further, the Chairman of the Communications Agency of Turkmenistan "Turkmenaragatnashyk" Khadzhimyrat Khudayguliyev made a welcoming speech.
General-Director of the RCC Executive Committee Nurudin Mukhitdinov made a speech on the topic "Turkmenistan on the way to global digital transformation".
The welcome speech from Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director of the BDT and elected Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, was read out by Natalia Mochu, Director of the ITU CIS Regional Office in Moscow
Masahiko Metoki, Director General of the Universal Postal Union also made a welcoming speech.
The plenary session, which discussed the most important issues of regional and international cooperation and attracting foreign investment in the ICT sector of Turkmenistan, was devoted to the trends in the development of the information and communication industry and the importance of the sector as a key factor in the economy.
The second session covered new satellite technologies.
The third session discussed telecommunications and data networks, including the integration of fixed, mobile and satellite networks, ultra-fast Internet access, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.
The fourth session "Digital Economy, Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection" was devoted to building a digital economy that protects important government, business and personal assets and data.
Chairman of the Communications Agency of Turkmenistan "Turkmenaragatnashyk" Khadzhimyrat Khudayguliyev summed up the results of the conference.
