The 3rd meeting of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Preparatory Group for the ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference 2021 (WTDC21) was held from 5-8 October 2021 via videoconference. The event was attended by more than 120 representatives of APT members, regional and international telecommunication organizations. Among them were the representatives of the RCC Communications Administrations: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, as well as the staff and management of the RCC Executive Committee.

The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by Masanori Kondo, Secretary-General of the APT and Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau, and Ahmad Reza Sharafat, Chairman of the APT Preparatory Group for WTDC-21.

The agenda of the above-mentioned meeting included consideration of the summary of the 2nd meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTDC-21, discussion of the preparation for WTDC-21 by ITU and other international and regional organizations, the work plan of the APT Preparatory Group for WTDC-21 and progress of the APT preparation for WTDC-21.

Arseniy Plosky, Deputy Director of the Laboratory of the Radio Research Institute made a presentation on the draft of the RCC General Proposals to WTDC-21.

At the conclusion of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity for WTDC-21 meeting, Masanori Kondo, Secretary-General of APT, and Ahmad Reza Sharafat, Chairman of the APT Preparatory Group for WTDC-21, summarized the event and thanked all participants for their constructive and fruitful work.

At the same time, work in ITU Regional Organizations to prepare and conduct Regional Preparatory Meetings for the ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference 2021 will continue.
