On 10 September 2021, the General Director of the RCC Executive Committee Mukhitdinov Nurudin Nasretdinovich had a working meeting with Shulgan Konstantin Konstantinovich, Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus, and Mahmudov Makhsum Mubashirovich, Chairman of the Working Group on the revision of RCC regulatory documents, Director of UNICON.UZ.
Zorya Natalya Evgenyevna, Deputy General Director of the RCC Executive Committee, Mokryagin Alexander Olegovich, Head of International Activity Department of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the RCC Commission on International Cooperation Coordination, Korzun Dmitry Nikolaevich, Head of the Department of Telecommunications and Regulation of Radio Frequency Spectrum of the Ministry of Communications and Informatisation of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the RCC Commission on Regulation of Radio Frequency Spectrum Usage and Satellite Orbits, Yurkevich Svetlana Viktorovna, General Director of Belpochta RUP.
The meeting was held at the Postal Salon of Belpochta RUP, where the leaders of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications familiarized themselves with the Postal Salon and the philatelic exposition displayed in the Salon.
Then, during the working meeting, they discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation in the areas of development of communications and information and communication technologies and the significant role of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications in this work.
In this regard, the General Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications also focused his attention on the leading positions the Republic of Belarus steadily holds in the development of telecommunication infrastructure and information and communication services in the region, as well as on the work that the representatives of the Communications Administration of the Republic of Belarus carry out as part of their active participation in the activities of different working bodies of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications.
At the same time, the regulatory documents of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU) - the UN specialized agencies, decisions of the Board of the Communications Administrations Heads of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, as well as documents of the Commonwealth of Independent States, including the CIS Strategy of Cooperation in Building and Developing Information Society until 2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation for the period, form the basis for conducting coordinated work within the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications.
Within the framework of the meeting there were discussed urgent issues on preparation for the regular 57/27th joint meeting of the Board of the Communications Administrations Heads of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications and the Informatization Coordination Council of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications scheduled on November 22-24, 2021 in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) as well as the meetings of other working bodies of the Regional Communications Commonwealth that will play a significant role in preparing the CIS Regional Communications Administrations for the biggest international events.
It was also highlighted that during the meeting of the RCC Commission for Coordination of International Cooperation, the working body of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, the nomination of the Republic of Belarus, together with the candidatures of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan from Region C (Eastern Europe and Northern Asia) to the ITU Council, elections to be held during the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022, was supported.
It should be noted that the General Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications highly appreciated the election of the Republic of Belarus to the Administrative Council of the Universal Postal Union from the Eastern Europe and North Asia Region, during the elections which took place during the next 27th Universal Postal Congress held in August 2021 in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, as well as its election as co-chairperson of Commission 4 of the UPU Administrative Council - "Cooperation for Development and Technical Assistance".
The meeting took place in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere.
