October 9 — World Post Day

On October 9, 1874, in Bern, Switzerland, 22 countries signed the Treaty of Bern, establishing the General Postal Union, which four years later became the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

In 1969, the UPU Congress in Tokyo designated the anniversary of the Union's founding as World Post Day.

Postal communication is the oldest element of communication infrastructure. For centuries it has ensured the delivery of critically important correspondence, supported interaction between states, and connected remote territories. Even today, in the context of rapid digitalization, it remains a reliable channel for information exchange.

⠀

We thank the postal administrations and postal operators of the region for their professionalism, responsibility, and dedication.

We wish you continued success in developing postal infrastructure and implementing large-scale projects!

May all items arrive precisely on time!

⠀

With respect,

The RCC Executive Committee
