On September 24–25, 2026, the fifth edition of the Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum — CAPIF 5 — took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The Forum brought together representatives of:

• The technical Internet community

• Internet service providers

• Network operators

• Internet traffic exchange points (IXPs)

• Government and regulatory bodies

• Researchers and IT specialists

CAPIF 5 was organized by RIPE NCC and OJSC "Tajiktelecom" with the support of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The opening of CAPIF 5 was attended by:

• Mr. Isfandiyori Sa’dullo, Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan

• Mr. Bakhtovar Abdusattorzoda, CEO of OJSC "Tajiktelecom"

• Mr. Hisham Ibrahim, Chief Community Officer at the RIPE NCC

• Ms. Natalia Mochu, Regional Director of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for CIS

Within the CAPIF 5 program, the following topics were examined:

• Development of Internet infrastructure and digital connectivity

• Data transmission routes and peering

• Deployment of modern network technologies and routing security

• Internet traffic exchange and IXP development

• Strengthening the technical Internet community of the region

This was the first time CAPIF was held in Tajikistan.
