The meeting took place on September 22 and was chaired by Mr. Ivan Gaychenya, Chairman of the Coordination Council of Special Communication Services under the RCC and Head of Spetssvyaz of Russia.

Meeting participants discussed current issues in the interstate exchange of special items, including:

• Improvement of the regulatory framework and unification of documents for the exchange of items

• Integration and complementarity of product areas in the work of special communications services

• Digitalization of interstate item tracking

• Establishment of the award "For Contribution to the Development of Special Communications."

During the opening part of the meeting, RCC Director General Mr. Alexey Borodin presented desk medals dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth to its participants.

In the discussion on improving the regulatory framework for the interstate exchange of special communications items, RCC Deputy Director General Ms. Maria Bolshakova presented information on:

• Progress in the work on amending the model law "On Postal Activity" at the level of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations

• The approval by the RCC Board of Ministers and the CIS Coordination Council under the RCC of amendments to the Agreement on Cooperation in the Interstate Exchange of Special Communications Items of December 23, 1993, and the accompanying Regulation on the Interstate Exchange of Special Communications Items, as well as a number of forms for accompanying special items, for submission for approval to the relevant authorized bodies of the CIS.
