Work continues on one of the region's key digital infrastructure projects — the construction of the Trans‑Caspian fiber‑optic communication line along the seabed, which will connect Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

The project's goal is not to replace existing routes, but to complement them — enhancing reliability and diversifying international Internet traffic transit.

On August 2, the project entered its active phase, with a specialized vessel beginning to lay the submarine cable along the Baku–Aktau route.

Technical details:

•  Length: approximately 400 kilometers

•  Capacity: up to 400 terabits per second, according to various estimates

•  Distinctive feature: a specialized armored submarine cable with integrated optical amplifiers (repeaters) to prevent signal attenuation over such a distance
