Postage Stamp Cancellation Ceremony Marks RCC's 35th Anniversary in Cholpon‑Ata, Kyrgyzstan

A commemorative postage stamp cancellation ceremony was held at the State Residence No. 2 of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Cholpon‑Ata. The stamp was issued by OJSC "Kyrgyz Pochtasy" as part of a joint issuance by the communications administrations of Commonwealth member states marking the 35th anniversary of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC).

The cancellation ceremony was attended by:

• Mr. Alexey Borodin, Director General of the RCC

• Mr. Altynbek Toktorbayev, Chairman of the Service for Regulation and Supervision in the Communications Industry under the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Digital Development and Innovation Technologies

• Ms. Uulzhan Masiyanova, Deputy Director General of OJSC "Kyrgyz Post".

• At the center of the souvenir sheet proposed for cancellation is a postage stamp featuring the RCC logo, which depicts a telecommunications tower, a satellite in orbit, and a communication signal — a lightning bolt.

The sheet's background features light blue tones and traditional Kyrgyz national ornaments.

• To the left of the stamp is a stylized number "35" with the inscription "жыл" (years) in Kyrgyz, along with the organization's full name in Russian.

• The stamp has a face value of 252.00 soms and was issued in 2026.

The designer‑artist is Eshenkulov Kalys.

For the cancellation of the postage stamp dedicated to the RCC anniversary, OJSC "Kyrgyz Pochtasy" produced a postmark bearing today's date — August 17, 2026.

The commemorative stamps issued in honor of the Commonwealth's 35th anniversary are part of a joint initiative under the Agreement of the RCC Communications Administrations. The Agreement aims to further promote the RCC as an international regional organization for cooperation in telecommunications and postal services, to strengthen mutually beneficial relations among its members, and to coordinate their activities in the development of communications.
