Digital Week Kicks Off in Geneva

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, which began today, is the first thematic event to follow the review of WSIS implementation, finalized by the UN General Assembly in December last year.

The WSIS Forum events will take place from July 6 to 10 at the ITU headquarters and the Palexpo exhibition venue.

This year's Forum program includes an extended high‑level segment, broader ministerial participation, the WSIS Prizes 2026 Ceremony, a number of thematic sessions, and exhibitions.

The AI for Good Global Summit, which begins tomorrow, will take place concurrently with the WSIS Forum.

The events in Geneva will bring together governments, international organizations, UN agencies, the private sector, civil society, academia, the technical community, and youth.

The highlevel segment of Geneva Digital Week will feature the following participants from the RCC/CIS region:

Mr. Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the RCC Board of Ministers and the Coordination Council of the CIS Member-States on Informatization of the RCC

• Mr. Zhaslan Madiev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan

• Mr. Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia

• Mr. Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia

• Mr. Grigory Borisenko, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation

• Mr. Alexander Alimov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation

• Mr. Khurshed Mirzo, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
