The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khojamurad Geldimuradov, Chairman of the CIS Economic Council and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The meeting considered the Report on the Activities of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) and the CIS Coordination Council for Informatization under the RCC for 2021–2025, presented by RCC Director General Mr. Alexey Borodin.

Based on the report, the CIS Economic Council:

• Noted the positive work of the RCC and the CIS Coordination Council in developing cooperation and integration in the fields of informatization and communications

• Instructed the RCC and the CIS Coordination Council, in cooperation with relevant agencies, to continue implementing key documents and decisions of the supreme bodies of the CIS in the field of communications

• Proposed that the RCC Executive Committee, together with the heads of communications administrations and interested bodies of CIS member states, continue detailed work on the following issues:

○ The formation of fair prices for communication services in roaming in CIS member states

○ The development of and ensuring access to non‑geostationary satellite orbits (NGSO) communication systems

○ The development of an alliance of IT parks and IT startups.

The activities of the RCC and the Coordination Council on Informatization cover key areas of cooperation in shaping a unified information and telecommunications policy, developing infrastructure projects, and building the CIS information space based on the latest technologies, the CIS web resource noted following the meeting. ⠀
