In October 2025, the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Sherzod Shermatov, held negotiations with an Amazon delegation that had arrived in Uzbekistan as part of an American business mission. Following the meeting, the Ministry and Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services LLC (formerly Amazon Leo – Spot) signed a memorandum of understanding.
During the [fifth Tashkent International Investment] Forum, an agreement was signed between the American company Amazon Leo and LLC "UZ-SAT" on the provision of high‑speed satellite Internet services in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry's Telegram channel reports.
According to the Ministry's statement, satellite Internet will be available not only to urban residents, but also to those in remote and hard‑to‑reach settlements and areas with limited or no telecommunications infrastructure.
Amazon Leo is a subsidiary of Amazon, established in 2019. The company is developing its own satellite constellation, which currently comprises over 3,000 spacecraft.
UZ-SAT was established in March 2021 and provides satellite communication services. Its co‑founders are Satellin Group (65%), Uzbektelecom (30%), and Neotech (5%).
