On June 17, 2026, the Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council completed the approval process for granting LLC "UNICON.UZ" the status of a base organization of the CIS member states, tasked with providing methodological and organizational‑technical support for work in the field of digital development of society.

The organization and the proposal for granting the status were presented during the meeting by Mr. Ulugbek Azimov, Director for Research and Development of UNICON.UZ, and Mr. Alexey Borodin, Director General of the RCC.

UNICON.UZ is part of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is currently a flagship in the country's ICT sector development, carrying out a wide range of tasks, including:

• Research and development

• Software product expertise

• Certification of telecommunications equipment and systems

• Digitalization of business processes

• Metrology

• Creation of effective ICT infrastructure.

Representatives of the enterprise work within the RCC's key commissions and working groups, and its Director General, Mr. Makhsum Makhmudov, serves as Chairman of the RCC Working Group on the Revision of Regulatory Documents.

The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council is expected to formally grant the enterprise the corresponding status and approve the Regulation on the Base Organization of the CIS Member States on Methodological and Organizational and Technical Support for Work in the Field of Digital Development of Society.
