Commemorative Postage Stamp Cancellation Ceremony

A commemorative postage stamp cancellation ceremony took place in the Rotunda of the Mariinsky Palace. The stamps were issued by the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation to mark the 35th anniversary of the RCC.

The heads of delegations of the communications administrations of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, together with the Director General of the RCC, placed postmark impressions and their signatures on the envelopes bearing the stamps.

A distinctive feature of these issues — prepared by RUE "Belpochta" and JSC "Marka" — is the inclusion of the RCC emblem in the design of the state postage stamps and philatelic products.

Ceremony participants also signed jubilee postal cards depicting the Mariinsky Palace — the venue for the gala meeting — framed by stylized patterns. The RCC logo appears on the back of the card.

All the cards have now been sent on their way. JSC "Russian Post" will deliver them to the Ministries of Communications of the Commonwealth countries.
