On May 22, 2026, the 60th plenary session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations was held in St. Petersburg at the Tavricheskiy Palace — the Assembly's headquarters.

The session was chaired by Ms. Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The welcoming addresses and the plenary block of the session centered on coordinated policies and national healthcare strategies in CIS member states, as 2026 has been declared the Year of Health Protection for the CIS.

Furthermore, during the session, the following were approved:

• A number of new model laws on legal issues, agrarian policy, natural resources and ecology, social policy and human rights, economics and finance, science and education, and other matters

• New versions of the Regulations on the Development of Model Legislative Acts and Recommendations of the IPA CIS and the Regulations on the Standing Commissions of the IPA CIS

• The Prospective Plan of Model Lawmaking of the CIS for 2026–2028, which included the RCC's proposal to amend the model law "On Postal Activity".

During the session, the RCC was represented by its Deputy Director General, Ms. Maria Bolshakova.
