On March 26, 2026, on the eve of the Digital Qazaqstan 2026 forum in Shymkent, Mr. Zhaslan Madiyev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Alexey Borodin, Director General of the RCC, discussed key priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of digital development and the role of Kazakhstan's communications administration within the Commonwealth, including:
• Plans for hosting major events on artificial intelligence (AI) in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including GITEX AI CENTRAL ASIA & CAUCASUS Kazakhstan, Games of the Future 2026, the International Science Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2026, AI & Digital Bridge 2026, and the Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF) 2026, among others
• The participation of the leadership of Kazakhstan's communications administration in the panel session of the region's "digital" ministers at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) and the anniversary meeting of the RCC Council (St. Petersburg, June 4–5)
• The implementation of the initiative by the President of Kazakhstan to establish an Alliance of IT Parks in the CIS region
• The representation of Kazakhstan's communications administration in the RCC Representation at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU)
• The initiative of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development (MAIDD RK) of the Republic of Kazakhstan to establish an ITU Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity for CIS countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the vectors shaping Kazakhstan's positions within the RCC and reaffirmed the relevance of the Commonwealth's strategic directions.
