On March 5, 2026, an online session was held to review the ITU's regional presence, led by Ms. Vernita Harris of the United States, Chair of the ITU Council Working Group on Financial and Human Resources (CWG-FHR).

The session continued the discussions from the 22nd meeting of the Council Working Group on Financial and Human Resources (CWG-FHR).

Session participants received an update from the ITU Secretariat on Member satisfaction with the ITU's regional presence, noting the comprehensive nature of the data presented.

However, participants noted the need to include in the secretariat's final report detailed information on the internal distribution of resources — specifically, the funding and staffing allocated to the ITU's regional and area offices to carry out their activities.

The next meeting of the CWG-FHR will be held jointly with the ITU Council Working Group for Strategic and Financial Plans 2028–2031 (CWG-SFP) on April 27, 2026, ahead of the ITU Council session.
