From March 2 to 5, Barcelona is hosting MWC26 — the annual conference organized by the GSMA — bringing together industry representatives, exhibitors, startup leaders, prominent business figures, and government officials to discuss key trends in global digital development.
In his opening address, GSMA Director General Vivek Badrinath outlined three key priorities for digitalization in the coming years:
• Investments in standalone networks
• Expanded access to open and inclusive artificial intelligence (AI)
• Coordinated action between industries and governments to build a safer digital future for all
MWC26 takes place at a pivotal moment for the global communications industry, as advanced technologies — including 5G and artificial intelligence (AI) — and growing digital threats are rapidly transforming economies, industries, and society itself.
The conference venue features eight major halls showcasing the latest developments and solutions from leading industry companies, startups, and country pavilions. All exhibits are united under the MWC26 theme: The IQ Era.
Delegations from RCC communications administrations and telecom operators are participating in MWC26, including representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as a representative from the RCC Executive Committee.
Approximately 110,000 attendees are expected over the four days of the Conference.
