Today, Defender of the Fatherland Day is observed in several countries of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications—a day to honor those who have defended, and continue to defend, their country; who daily demonstrate fortitude, responsibility, and readiness to serve their homeland.

We express our deepest respect to those who stand guard over peace, justice, and honor; to those who protect the security and well-being of their communities and families; and to all who bear responsibility for the future of their country.
