On January 20, 2026, the group, chaired by Mr. Wojciech Berezowski of Poland, reviewed:
◘ The Secretariat's report on ITU activities related to the Internet in implementing relevant Plenipotentiary Conference resolutions
◘ Proposals from ITU Member States on key issues, including:
• Topics for future open multilateral consultations conducted by the group. (These consultations are open only to ITU Member States).
• Results from the overall review of the implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcomes that fall within the group's mandate and were adopted by the UN General Assembly in December 2025. This includes, in particular, the commitment to support a free, open, secure, and interoperable Internet.
• Proposals from the communications administration of the Russian Federation to improve the group's work, specifically concerning the development of a post-2026 Plenipotentiary Conference work plan and the determination of topics for its meetings in the upcoming four-year cycle.
The group took note of all proposals.
