The first Interregional Information Session in preparation for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27) was held at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) headquarters in Geneva from December 3 to 5, 2025.
Attendees included representatives of the communications administrations and RCC members from the following countries:
• Belarus
• Russia
• Uzbekistan
Alexander Kühn, Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Meeting for WRC-27 (CPM-27), led the session.
The session was structured as a series of roundtable discussions on key preparatory topics, including:
• Logistics for upcoming meetings: Preparations for CPM27-2, WRC-27, and the Radiocommunication Assembly 2027 (RA-27).
• Technical and regulatory issues: The terrestrial component of IMT, satellite-related matters, and other mobile-satellite service (MSS) topics.
• Terrestrial service considerations: Relevant issues concerning terrestrial services.
• Specific satellite services: Matters related to the Fixed-Satellite Service (FSS) and the Broadcasting-Satellite Service (BSS).
• Satellite service regulation: Regulatory frameworks and procedures for satellite services.
• Space and scientific services: Issues of space and scientific services, such as radio-electronic communication equipment, information collection and protection systems, and lunar communications.
Sergey Pastukh, Chairman of the RCC Working Group for RA/WRC Preparation (WG RA/WRC) and Vice-Chair of CPM-27 for the RCC/CIS region, presented the RCC's preparatory plans for the upcoming CPM27-2, RA-27, and WRC-27 meetings.
In his report, he outlined the structure of the RCC members' work within the WG RA/WRC and the process for developing the Commonwealth's Common Proposals for the Conference. He also introduced the RCC coordinators and co-coordinators, detailing their work on the specific agenda items for WRC-27 and RA-27.
