At the Blockchain Life 2025 forum in Dubai, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced an ambitious project—the decentralized network Cocoon*.
The project will be implemented as part of a collaboration between Telegram and a supercomputer cluster in Kazakhstan.
What is Cocoon?
It's a network for secure and private AI inference—that is, for working with AI while guaranteeing data privacy.
How will it work?
• Network foundation: the TON blockchain.
• Computing power: provided by GPU miners**, who will receive rewards in Toncoin***.
• Telegram's role: the platform will generate demand and generate excitement around the project.
Benefits for participants
• Application developers will have access to affordable AI tools.
• Users will be able to use AI with complete anonymity.
When is the launch?
The full release is scheduled for November 2025. Developers can apply to participate in the project until then.
Additional context – AI lab in Kazakhstan:
• In early October of this year, Pavel Durov announced the launch of Telegram's AI Lab in Kazakhstan.
• The project is a logical continuation of the ongoing collaboration: Telegram's first regional office was opened in the country a year ago.
"This technology will allow more than one billion people to use AI functions that will be privately generated by a decentralized computer system," explained Pavel Durov.
