The Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy agreed on future areas of joint work with the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications.

The 59th Meeting of the ICAP was held on October 22 in Brest under the chairmanship of Artur Karpovich, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, who was elected in April as the new Chairman of the Council for the period 2025-2026.

The Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications was represented at the meeting by Maria Bolshakova, Deputy Director General of the RCC.

During the meeting, participants discussed, among other things:
• progress in implementing the decisions of the 58th ICAP meeting,
• recent notable developments in antitrust policy in the CIS member states,
• information on key events within the CIS and the relevant EAEU Commission,
• the experience of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange,
• the activities of the basic organization of the CIS member states for professional retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of antitrust regulation and competition policy,
• measures to ensure price transparency in public procurement in Belarus,
• a report on the activities of the Headquarters for Joint Investigations of the Violations of the Antimonopoly Legislation in the CIS Countries.

The meeting approved the Headquarters' decisions regarding new areas of joint work by the RCC to develop a number of model recommendations for the CIS in the areas of:
• regulatory framework for AI and metaverse technologies,
• development of low-orbit communication systems in the region and conditions for admitting foreign operators,
• establishing fair prices for roaming communication services in the region.

Furthermore, the meeting approved two reports:
• "Regulatory Framework for State Regulation of Prices (Tariffs) in the CIS Member States"
• "Civil Protection for Victims of Competition Violations"

The next, anniversary, Meeting of the ICAP will be held in the spring of 2026, tentatively in Kazakhstan.
