Today, October 21, the 45th meeting of the Headquarters for the Joint Investigations of Violations of the Antimonopoly Legislation of the CIS Member States was held in Brest, Belarus.
The Headquarters operates under the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy of the CIS Member States, serving as a platform for working discussions and the preparation of materials for ICAP meetings.
The meeting, chaired by the Head of the Headquarters, State Secretary and Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia Sergey Puzyrevsky, addressed a number of issues relevant to the work of the antimonopoly services of the CIS member states.
The meeting, in particular, reviewed the Headquarters' work on studying the impact of artificial intelligence on competition in the markets of CIS Member States, as well as its use in the work of antimonopoly authorities — an area of work being carried out by the Headquarters in cooperation with the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications.
Maria Bolshakova, Deputy Director General of the RCC, participated in related discussions and, among other things, presented the results of the Meeting of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Economy regarding decisions regarding future cooperation between the RCC and the ICAP.
Following the discussion, the Meeting supported the development of the following CIS model documents in 2026-2028 as new areas of joint work between the RCC and the Headquarters:
• Recommendations on the legal regulation of AI technologies and Metaverses,
• Recommendations on the development of low-orbit communication systems in the region and the conditions for admitting foreign operators,
• Recommendations on the formation of fair prices for roaming communications services in the region.
The above proposals will be submitted to the 59th meeting of the International Union of Communities (IUCN) for approval tomorrow.
