In exactly one month, Azerbaijan will host the 2025 World Telecommunication Development Conference

ITU Member States and the Global Digital Community will chart the path for future digital development at the 2025 World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), which will be held from November 17 to 28 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The conference, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and hosted by the government of Azerbaijan, will be held under the theme "Universal, Meaningful, and Affordable Connectivity for an Inclusive and Sustainable Digital Future".

"For the 2.6 billion unconnected people, digital development is more than a technical challenge. It's a test of our collective commitment to an inclusive, sustainable digital future for all. WTDC-25 is the time to move from this reality to action, ensuring everyone, everywhere, can benefit from technology," said ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin.

Holding every four years, WTDC strengthens global collaboration to address telecommunications challenges and develops forward-looking solutions that unlock the potential of technology for the benefit of society.

Azerbaijan's Minister of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation, Rashad Nabiyev, emphasized:

"Holding WTDC-25 in Baku—the first in the Commonwealth of Independent States—is an honor and a historic vote of confidence from ITU, built over three decades of partnership since 1992. Providing a venue for this important conference underscores Azerbaijan's growing leadership in meaningful connectivity and sustainable digital transformation, as well as our commitment to shaping the future of global telecommunications and digital inclusion".

Looking ahead to the next decade, WTDC-2025 will reaffirm the crucial role of digital technologies in improving human well-being, protecting the planet, and fostering prosperity for all.

"Sustainable digital transformation requires bold, people-centered action, coupled with investments in resilient infrastructure, innovation, and inclusion. WTDC-25 is our chance to define the next steps together with our members and partners to bridge the many digital divides and make meaningful connectivity a reality for everyone," said Cosmas Lakison Zavazava, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau.
