Today, October 9, is World Post Day!

Exactly 150 years ago, in October 1874, the first International Postal Congress was held in Bern, Switzerland, leading to the establishment of the Universal Postal Union.

Almost a century later, at the UPU Congress held in 1969 in Tokyo, Japan, it was decided to celebrate World Post Day annually on October 9.

Despite the rapid development of technology and communications, mail remains a universal means of communication – it ensures the smooth operation of businesses and unites people from different cities and countries.
