WSIS is an ongoing UN multi-stakeholder process on digital governance and cooperation that aims to promote people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented information and knowledge societies.
The UN General Assembly, in its Resolution A/70/125, decided to conduct an overall review of the implementation of WSIS outcomes in 2025. The 2025 WSIS+20 High-Level Event will facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue and stimulate action by assessing achievements, key trends and challenges since the adoption of the Geneva Plan of Action in 2003, the first of the two agreed WSIS outcome documents.
The WSIS Forum 2025 is attended by delegations of the RCC Member States’ communications administrations and the RCC Executive Committee. The RCC is represented at a high level by:
• Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan
• Grigory Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russian Federation
Maria Bolshakova, Deputy Director General of the RCC, is participating in the Forum on behalf of the RCC Executive Committee.
