Qatar, represented in the ITU Council by the delegation of the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) as an observer, presented information on the preparations for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, which will be held in November 2026 in Doha, during the second plenary meeting of the ITU Council 2025 session.

Incoming Chairman of PP-2026, CRA Chairman Al Muslemani confirmed that the Conference will be held at the highest level, also noting that a timely start of preparatory activities is the key to future success.

As a determining factor for holding an effective Conference, A. Muslemani noted the need to ensure the representation and participation of all regions in the work of the Conference on an equal basis.

ITU Secretary-General D. Bogdan-Martin confirmed the readiness of the ITU Secretariat to sign an agreement with the Government of Qatar to host the Conference and noted that Qatar's experience in hosting major international events will serve as a solid foundation for the preparatory work.

The meeting participants were also presented with the official logo of the upcoming Conference.
