
Today, May 20, 2025, in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, the 48th meeting of the RCC Telecommunications and Infocommunications Operators Board was held.
The event was held on the eve of the annual international conference M360 Eurasia, organized by the GSM Association (GSMA), RCC partner.
The participants of the meeting were representatives of the RCC Communications Administrations and participants of the RCC TIOB from the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as observers of the RCC TIOB, in particular, representatives of ER-Telecom Holding, Huawei, Eutelsat OneWeb, RIPE NCC, VimpelCom, PIP and GSMA.
Under the chairmanship of Alexey Ivashkin, Director General of Beltelecom, the participants of the meeting considered a number of issues relevant for the development of the telecommunications industry in the region, including:
- formation of fair prices for communication services in roaming,
- counteraction to fraud (frod) on communication networks in the RCC/CIS Member-States,
- trends in the development of non-geostationary satellite orbit systems (NGSO), their impact on the communications market and approaches to the elaboration of joint solutions for harmonious use of NGSO in the communications networks of the RCC Member-States,
- preparation of communication networks for the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and the advantages of its usage.
The participants of the meeting also discussed major operator events to be held in the region in 2025-2026.
In addition, the RCC Executive Committee presented information on the events planned to be held within the framework of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the RCC in 2026.
It is important to note that the decisions of the 48th meeting of the RCC TIOB will be the basis for discussion on a number of items on the agenda of the forthcoming joint meeting of the 63/31st RCC Board and Coordination Council to be held tomorrow, May 21, in Tashkent.
