
Within the framework of the 63/31st RCC Board of the Communications Administrations Heads - members of the Commonwealth and the Coordination Council of CIS Member-States on Informatization at the RCC, an Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications on the working conditions of the Office of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Agreement in Uzbek and Russian languages was signed by the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov and RCC Director General Alexey Borodin.
The opening ceremony of the RCC Executive Committee Branch was held in the IT Park Uzbekistan building complex.
Welcoming words to the participants of the ceremony were addressed by:
- Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov;
- RCC Director General, Alexey Borodin;
- ITU Deputy Secretary-General, Thomas Lamanauskas;
- CIS Deputy Secretary General, Ilkhom Nematov.
“I am sure that the opening of the office, which is symbolic, on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth, will become a new chapter in the history of our Commonwealth” - stated Alexey Borodin.
The opening of the Central Asia office offers new prospects for the expansion of the Commonwealth membership and development of cooperation with both the public and private sectors of the partner countries of the RCC Member-States. The office will become a coordination center for the implementation of joint ICT projects on the basis of IT parks, including within the framework of ITU regional initiatives.
