The Chairman of the Board of the Communications Administrations Heads - participants of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC), Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov and the RCC Director General Alexey Borodin held a meeting.
During the meeting, the RCC Director General outlined the main results of the work of the RCC Executive Committee in 2024 and highlighted the organization's development plans for the upcoming year. In addition, he mentioned the preparation and participation of the RCC Communications Administrations in the upcoming major events of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), as well as cooperation with the GSMA in terms of holding the M360 Eurasia conference in May 2025 in Uzbekistan. In addition, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of inter-operator cooperation in the region on the platform of the RCC Operators and Infocommunications Board, in particular, on the issues of countering fraud on communication networks and formation of fair prices for communication services in roaming.
An important topic of discussion was the implementation of the decision of the Board of the CAs Heads to open a branch of the RCC Executive Committee in Tashkent. The parties also discussed innovative approaches to promoting effective and mutually beneficial cooperation of the RCC Member-States.
Furtgermore, the meeting discussed the creation and practical implementation of new ICT standards. The possibility of organizing an international standardization event in Uzbekistan together with ITU was also considered.
It was emphasized that the development of communication infrastructure, holding international events and utilizing the country's tourism potential are crucial for positioning Uzbekistan as a regional center of communications and digital technologies.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed confidence in promoting strategic cooperation between the states of the region and taking it to new heights.
