The meeting was attended by representatives of the RCC Communications Administrations, relevant government bodies dealing with information security from the Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan and the CIS Executive Committee. Representatives of Poland, Estonia and Japan also attended the meeting as guests.

The meeting participants considered legal and regulatory documents in the field of information security as called for in the Comprehensive Plan on Implementation of the Cooperation Concept of the CIS member states in the field of information security.

Information on the progress of the RCC R&D work “Study of the CIS countries information infrastructure security state:  analysis of the experience of the information systems and information-telecommunication networks security ensuring  in the Commonwealth countries  and specification of the list of priorities in this area” was presented.

During the meeting a demonstration of a model system of protected legally significant transborder information exchange between the State Enterprise “Center of Special Telecommunications” (Moldova), FSUE Research Institute “Voskhod” (Russia) and SA “Unizeto Technologies” (Poland) was held.

Besides, during the meeting proposals of the Commission members to establish a center on ensuring security in cyberspace were considered. This structure should become a single centre for national information systems and Internet segment users providing information on computer incidents collection and analysis, advisory and technical support to users in preventing threats to computer security within the Commonwealth of Independent States space. It is expected to study the question together with members of the WG on Interacting Networks Information Security and to consider it at the next meeting.

In conclusion, participants of the meeting commended the CA Kazakhstan for the warm reception and organization of meetings at a high level.

The meeting of the Information Security Commission was held during the annual International Conference “E-Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Initiatives.”
