On 3-4 th September 2009 in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) the 11th DBCG meeting took place. Print E-mail

Representatives of 7 RCC Communications Administrations, RCC Executive Committee, representatives of operators, companies-manufacturers of equipment for TDTVB took part in the meeting.

Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communication Mr. Kuanyshbek B. Yessekeyev made a speech of welcome.

 

Participants of the meeting heard a report on the RCC Board decision “Approval of Recommendations on coordination of new and modification of planned frequency assignments/allocations of digital broadcasting in the band 470-862 MHz between RCC CAs.” By the results of the speech it was decided to develop till the end of 2009 a draft Recommendation  on coordination of new and modification of planned frequency assignments/allocations of digital broadcasting in the band 174-230 MHz between RCC CAs.

 

Participants of the meeting considered activities of the ITU and CEPT study bodies on use of the frequency band 790-863 MHz and also analysis of this band use in the RCC participants’ countries.

 

DBCG Chairman analyzed introduction of the terrestrial digital TV in the RCC participants’ countries on the basis of information received from communications administrations. Discussion and exchange of experience in TDTVB introduction between RCC CAs representatives took place. A representative of the operator from the Republic of Kazakhstan JSC National Information Holding Arna Media informed those present about the government plan of TDTVB implementation up to 2014.

 

Participants of the meeting analyzed TDTVB transmitting-receiving equipment manufactured by the RCC participants’ countries. A representative of the Rohde & Schwarz Company made a presentation on the test and measuring equipment for designing and maintenance of the TDTVB networks.

 

EUTELSAT representatives presented a project of building digital broadcasting network in the Republic of Kazakhstan using satellite communication facilities.

 

In conclusion, the DBCG Chairman thanked the Republic of Kazakhstan representatives for warm welcome.
